Definition and Description
It is named to that establishment whose main purpose is to bring to consumers an important variety of products of different brands, prices and styles, ubcating product in racks, shelf or refrigerators on a aisle. Unlike what happens with a large part of the business, a supermarket is characterized by exposing these products to consumers freely, there is a self-service system that make that costumers and clients could choose their products thinking abour the price and the quantity of products and after paid it in a chack-out counter.
Prepositions and prepositional phrases
Use it for indicate a place or the order of tge things. To indicate where the things are located into the suoermarket.
* next to: al lado de
* to your right: a su derecha
* to your side: al lado de
* on the top: arriba de
* on the left: a la izquierda
* on the right: a la derecha
* opposite: al contrario
* in: en
* against: en contra de
* bottom: al fondo
* entrance: entrada
Example
- The milk is next to the cheese cream.
- The greengrocer is to the bottom of the supermarket.
- The beauty products are to your right.
Wh-qustions with Can
The modal verb CAN us used to express ability. To make a question you have to invert the words and use a wh-word (who, what, where, why, when) in the begining.
Form: wh-word + Can + subject + the rest of the sentence.
Example:
- Customers can pay with a coupon / Who Can pay with a coupon?
-You can find kosher food in the entrance of the supermarket / what can find customer in the entrance of the supermarket?
-You can get vegetables in the aisle 5 / Where can get vegetables?
Reading
Was upon a time people exchanged products to obtein what they needed, after that, peoplehad to travel to oher places to exchanged their products because in otres locations there was clothes and other groceries that they didn't produce and made places named foreing markets. In the future, people invent the coin or the cash to pay and buy their things. Today it is organizated in places called supermarket that have an organization, hace racks, barcode reader, check-out counter, differents product in the same place like groseries, home appliances, beauty products, and sone service like pay domestic services.
But not everyone is thrilled with the supermarkets. Remember the time when life was less hectic and people went to the local shopkeepers, butchers or greengroceres and met and talked with neighbors, as well as with the grocer or himself. But it is unlikely that the local merchant's days will come back. The supermarket today is very convenient for busy people who are always in a hurry.
